Applicants must have successfully completed a 2200 hour Massage Therapy program and a registration exam in either British Columbia, Ontario or Newfoundland & Labrador. CMTNL typically offers its registration exam twice a year.

Membership is mandatory in both the NLMTB and NLMTA in order to actively practise massage therapy in the province.
