After having completed a diploma in the Fitness and Lifestyle Specialist program from CompuCollege in 2006, Rebecca went on to graduate from the comprehensive and accredited 2200-hour ICT Schools program in 2009 via CompuCollege, and has since been practicing in St. Johnʼs as a registered member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland and Labrador (CMTNL) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Massage Therapy Association (NLMTA). Rebecca believes the key to an effective treatment plan is an individualized one designed based on assessment and intake. She believes in treating the root cause of the injury rather than just the symptoms. She is well-versed in the assessment and treatment of repetitive strain and postural dysfunction including carpal tunnel, tendonitis, epicondylitis (golferʼs elbow and tennis elbow) and plantar fasciitis. Having worked in spa, clinic and corporate settings, she has familiarized herself with different modalities and treatment techniques for everything from relaxation to the treatment of Motor Vehicle Collision injuries. She has also worked with sports teams, such as the Elite Team at 8 Limb Muay Thai and with the HockeyNL High Performance Program. In 2014, Rebecca began following her love of sports treatment by enrolling in the International Sport Massage Diploma Program, followed closely by becoming a certification candidate for the Sport Massage Therapist designation with the CSMTA. Rebecca is trained in Swedish massage techniques, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and myofasical techniques, as well as massage to help expectant mothers through their pregnancy by offering prenatal care in all trimesters. She’s done certification courses in mechanical cupping, and most recently attended the K-Taping Pro Course offered through the K-Taping Academy in Canada, both of which she incorporates regularly into treatment plans as indicated. Rebecca is committed to helping her clients understand their in-clinic treatment as well as what they can do on their own time to help speed the healing process and prevent re-injury.
